SALDANHA BAY SCHOOLS AND WCDM RECEIVE R240K DONATION IN ICT EQUIPMENT
On Friday, 12 March 2021 Saldanha Bay Municipality donated three (3) line printers to the West Coast District Municipality (WCDM) and 27 photocopy machines to the principals of 23 primary and high schools within the municipal area.
The Western Cape Department of Education assisted the Municipality to identify schools in need of ICT equipment after an internal process was completed to dispose of and transfer moveable assets to other state organs. This process includes the donation of printers to the WCDM.
The value of the line printers was estimated at R40 734.56 and the photocopy machines at R205 188.17, on 30 June 2020.
The schools identified by the Education Department include Diazville Primary School, Diazville High School, Eden Primary School, EJ Malgate Primary School, Hopefield Primary School, Hopefield High School, HP Williams Primary School, Jurie Heyes Primary School, Karitas Primary School, Langebaan Primary School, Louwville High School, Masiphathisane Primary School, Middelpos Primary School, Panorama Primary School, Saldanha Primary School, St Andrews Primary School, St Augustine Primary School, Steenbergs Cove Primary School, Vredenburg Primary School, Vredenburg High School, Weston High School, St Helena Bay Primary School and Weskus Skool.
The transfer of ownership of redundant assets complies with the principles and prescriptions of the Municipal Finance Management Act and is consistent with Saldanha Bay Municipality’s supply chain management policy.
