UNPLANNED ELECTRICITY INTERRUPTIONS IN VARIOUS TOWNS

We are experiencing unplanned electricity interruptions to various towns in the municipal area. The Municipality’s electricians have commenced with repair work to restore the supply of electricity to the affected residents.

1) A transformer is being replaced in Jacobsbaai which will affect the Oranjevlei, Kliprug 1 and 2 farms.

2) A transformer is being replaced in Boswewer Street in Vredenburg, affecting residents in the surrounding area.

3) Repair work is underway in Paternoster to restore electricity supply to the affected area.

ESKOM LOAD SHEDDING ALERT: 5 – 7 AUGUST 2022

Stage 2 load shedding has been implemented until Sunday, during the evening peak from 16:00 – 00:00.

Eskom will promptly communicate any further significant changes.

We therefore urge all residents to continue using electricity sparingly especially during these uncertain times on the power system.

UNPLANNED WATER INTERRUPTION TO ST HELENA BAY

We are currently experiencing an unplanned water interruption to St Helena Bay due to a recent pipe break on a West Coast District Municipality main water line.

The District Municipality is attending to the problem in order to restore the supply of water as soon as possible.

We apologise for the inconvenience occurred and urge the affected consumers to please be patient with us during this period.

Over the next two days, Eskom will implement load shedding as follows:

  • Thursday, 4 August 2022
    Stage 2 from 05:00 – 16:00
    Stage 4 from 16:00 – 24:00  
  • Friday, 5 August 2022
    Stage 2 from 05:00 – 24:00
  • The status of load shedding for the weekend is dependent on returning generating units to service and will be confirmed closer to the time.

PLANNED ELECTRICITY INTERRUPTION: LANGEBAAN

Area:     Kiewiet South, Kwikstertjie and Rooibekkie Close (Seaview Park)

Time:     09:00 – 16:00

Saldanha Bay Municipality intends to interrupt the supply of electricity to the above-mentioned area to carry out urgent repair work on the electrical network in the area.

Your installation must be treated as being live for the full duration of the maintenance period, as the power may be switched on before the time mentioned above.

Please use electricity sparingly after switch-on to enable a smooth and stable energising process for all.

We are experiencing an unplanned electricity interruption to a section in Paternoster including Kliprug, Kompasweg, Samson Street and the surrounding area due to the vandalism of municipal electrical infrastructure.

The Municipality’s electricians have commenced with repair work to restore the supply of electricity to the affected residents.
