by | Sep 16, 2026 | Media Release

The Saldanha Bay Municipality takes a firm stand for safer roads, safer communities, and responsible compliance with the law.

Through Operation SISONKE, our dedicated Public Safety Services, in collaboration with Provincial Traffic, conducted an integrated enforcement operation aimed at promoting road safety, enforcing municipal by-laws, and ensuring that motorists and residents comply with the law.

The operation achieved significant successes, including:

✅ 127 vehicles stopped for inspection.
✅ 59 traffic notices issued.
✅ 16 municipal law enforcement fines issued.
✅ 5 Provincial Traffic fines issued.
✅ 5 vehicles impounded during the operation.
✅ Outstanding warrants successfully addressed.

⚠️ A strong message to all motorists and residents

Saldanha Bay Municipality urges all motorists and vehicle owners to take responsibility by ensuring that:

📌 Outstanding fines and warrants are attended to without delay.
📌 Vehicles are properly licensed and roadworthy.
📌 Drivers carry the necessary and valid documentation.
📌 All traffic laws and municipal by-laws are respected.

Ignoring outstanding fines or operating a vehicle without the necessary documentation can have serious consequences.

Operation SISONKE serves as a clear reminder that enforcement will continue, and that compliance is not optional—it is a shared responsibility.
